Ian walked into the music room. The Indian guitarist was there, strumming away.
Ian turned, to walk away. He never knew how to deal with people.
The song changed mid key to “wait a minute.”
Ian stopped. He turned around. He wasn’t sure what he was waiting for.
“Big room.” The guitarist said quietly.
Of course he was right. But today was Thursday, Thursday is piano day not guitar day. Ian liked order too, everything spic and span.
“Piano.” Ian answered as if that explained everything.
The guitarist nodded. “Go ahead.”
Ian wondered to the piano. It seemed uncomfortable to explain how he normally did not practice in front of people. He sat down anyway and started to work on his song.
His song, was sad but slow, a little uneasy. A little like an owl that was lost in the woods, cursing the day he was held awake in.
Pratik cradled his guitar and listened. The melody was haunting, and it really begged for words.
